I haven't written in ages. And I intend to keep it like that.
For anyone still out there, though....I just had the best sex of my life. And I am kind of drunk. I love Buffalo.

Boo.
I had an insightful thing to anaylze for the first time in nearly a year and I got distracted. All evening I've been thinking about gender identity and discovering things about my own and actually it does not really matter.
So, on to mudane topics...here's an update:
1) I had an amazing summer for 10 minutes. I was offered a paid 10 week position at the nonprofit (Good Schools for All) that I am interning with this summer...ironically enough, the director was careless and proposed it to me before checking with the original person who was going to fill the position. To make a long story short, he was not on the ball and still isn't, but he picked up the phone this and decided to take it. So then I no longer had an opportunity. It was a nice thought, too bad she handled the situation so poorly.
2) I met God today...well, Eric the homeless man that walks Elmwood. In highschool people said that he believed he was God, and developed a fictional persona for him. Too bad it was all a giant lie. God is really a creepy, but kind and harmless man who does sell jewlery...but that's all. His jewlery is over priced and his hands and mouth wonder to many inappropriate places (ie. all over Eileen) which made our visit turn from something awkardly pleasant to awkwardly discusting. It's happened before when we were out around Allen last summer, but atleast that man was up front with his intention which gave Eileen a chance to step away before getting molested.
3) I still work at Wegmans...always.
4) Deleware was really fun. Rehoboth was disappointing in terms of its reputaiton as being really queer. It was too early in the season for things to pick up, I guess. I got a tan and free food for a week, and time spent with Kodee is always worthwhile. She will be up in a few weeks for my birtdhay. I misssss her.
5) This weekend = pride.
6) My birthday = Marcellas and everyone I know within a reasonable radius. Let me know if you are wanting to attend. It should prove to be a good night.
Life is fine. Buffalo is too damn hot, but atleast the Sabres are not sucking and people are getting excited about life here. It should happen more often. Buffalo is AMAZING <3 Sabres victory and the Democrats in town...what a week. Oh, the Clintons.
Well, I'm out...Peace

Summer has arrived.
I will be home from today, which is a Friday until next Friday.
Then I am going to the beach for a little over a week.
Life is busy in June...kicking off the month with pride, ani in Pittsburgh, a class at Buff State, Internship and Wegmans.
July is fabulous. I will be seeing Kodee every other week, how sick is that? And continue to intern....and work.
August=Seelinsgrove, more work and interning and back to school at the end of the month!
This shall prove to be one busy period of time.
Buffalo never changes. <3
Oh yes, and I have officially been in a happy, committed relationship for one years time as of May 1.
And three 1/2 years at Wegmans next month.
And ofcourse ninteen years of exsistance next month as well.
Oh yes, and in July no tickets for a year.
And I have figured out my concentration and will declare it when I return in the fall: Urban Education and Social Change. I am also in the process of licensure to teach English at a secondary level....I am thinking I may switch to art?! Oh man, the possibilities never end.
My first year at college was fabulous. I am really happy.

Whose out there still?
Do this:
1. Reply with your name and I will write something random about you. 2. I will then tell you what song/movie reminds me of you. 3. I will pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in. 4. I will say something that only makes sense to you and me. 5. I will tell you my first memory of you. 6. I will tell you what animal you remind me of. 7. I'll then ask you something that I've always wondered about you. 8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your LJ.

Alright, so I have a group looking for a one (more) people to lottery with for housing. There's four of us, all first years and all with two points, which may make it less appealing. We are still collectively looking but also would be interested in separating if one or more of us are able to find a different group. I know that Kodee and I are looking to live in Enfield or Greenwich. If anyone is interested post here or e-mail me at moer05@hampshire.edu.

8:56 am - Worthy
|
I suppose there has not really been an appropriate time or event to truly be worth updating. Today, however, is certainly LJ worthy. So I was out fairly late last time, came in collapsed and could not fall asleep...mainly because I knew I had to because I was working early this morning. I get about five hours of sleep, awaken by my alarm at 7:50, having to be at Wegmans at 8:30. I spend several minutes talking myself out of caling in sick, suck it up and take a fast shower and head into work. I get there right as my shift is beginning, and Matt asks me why I am here. Oh fuck. So I can't punch in, already a bad sign. I go check the schedule, and sure enough I work at 8:30 PM. Bahhhhhhh. I sped home, dove into the couch...and am still unable to find the remote....and SImply Quilting is on.
This is LJ worthy simply because it is entirely my fault and I deserve to bitch to no one, except LJ,
Good night.

My break was wonderful. I saw all of my wonderful friends, worked nearly full time, and chilled. New Years was a crazy night. Kodee came up, and we stayed at the Hampton Inn. Partied with Liz & Kim. Went downtown. Nothing out of the ordinary. But it was a really good time!
I wasn't ready to come back to Massachussettes. It snowed like a bitch on our way back in. I was/am a little bit sick. Haven't done much of anything too exciting.
I am applying for an internship at Columbia for the summer. It is for a summer program for highschool students, acting as a TA/RA. They pay really well, and it would mean free housing and food in New York for a month. That is pretty exciting. We'll see if and how that all works out. I am also applying for a summer internship as GLYSEN. Or may try to be a TA for Buffalo summer schooling. If none of those things work out, I am taking an education class at Buff State, and working at Wegmans (which I will be doing no matter what if I end up in Buffalo).
I stumbled upon North Star, an organization out of Hadley that acts as a community center for homeschooled teens. They offer classes in a very alternative foruum (ie no grades/requirements etc. etc.). I am meeting with the director Thursday morning. Hopefully, I will be able to design and teach a class for the Spring semester! I want to teach creative writing...I have a whole bunch of ideas. I can't wait.
Oh yes, I am pursuing education. I have toiled with the idea of teaching for as long as I can remember. Hampshire has an incredible innovative learning program. ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION IS AMAZING! The more I read about progressive learning methods, the more excited I get. This is why the whole North Star opportunity is incredible. Ultimately, I would like to teach at a secondary level, in a Waldorf or Free school. Perhaps even begin my own. So many possibilities.
Oh yes, and I got a gecko yesterday. She is five months old. I do not have a name for her. Some ideas are Scarlet, Lilith and Luicille. Any suggestions?

The only time that I am really tempted to binge on LJ angst is when I am home.
I miss Amherst so much. Massachussettes is really such an amazing place. I have grown to appretiate its beauty when coming back to Buffalo. What is incredible is that I think I am falling in love with Amherst and out of love with blo. I mean, it will always be home, a good place to come back to . Only to visit I can't see myself here in five years. Not even this summer. I can't really happily exsist here anymore. It feels so empty.
I also miss Kodee face more than I miss Massachussettes. This first semester has proven to be a difficult struggle for our relationship. We made it through so much uncertainty and struggle. Thank god for our ability to communicate. We would not have lasted a month. I've learned so much from this whole experience. I look back on past relations and relationships and really shudder at how I handled things. Jesus, so so bad. I feel like my lack of communication skills really screwed up a lot of friendships and relationships. Growing up is really cool.
My evals have started to appear on the hub. I did really well in the 2 of 4 classes that were posted. Bethany Ogdon even aknowledged my hard work. She even gave me POSITIVE commentary on my final paper, which was an exploration of the representation of American poverty and the American Dream in American Film. Oh, Bethany...finally you've taken your head out of your ass.
Anyway, I am hunting for an internship...preferably in or around Amherst. I need to make a date with the fine fokes at CORC when I return to Camp Hamp.
I have nothing else to say. I miss Kodee and school. Wegmans is fine...I am there everyday until forever. Come visit.
That's it. Peace.

Take me home and leave me there...."
I never update, but I will, because I have five minutes to kill.
I come home late Tuesday night! Kodee and Santi are coming as well...it will be a lot of fun :)
Classes are coming down to an end. I have so much work to do. I got the classes that I wanted for the Spring: -Historical and Contemporary Perspectives on Reproduction and Infant Development (NS) This interdisciplinary course investigates issues surrounding women's reproductive health (menarchy, pregnancy, lactation and menopause) and early childhood development in Early Modern European History, current Medicine and U.S. Public Health policies. One of our goals is to problematize the historically and culturally situated contexts of mothering practices, medical knowledge, and health policies. We will also address historical phenomena (wet-nursing, mid- wifery, etc.) in light of modern scientific evidence. Topics to be discussed might range from Renaissance concepts of conception and sexual difference, Caesarian births and the dissection of women, contraception, child abandonment, and images of breastfeeding women to current scientific research on age at menarchy, maternal nutrition, infant feeding modalities and hormone replacement therapy
-Positive Psychology (CS) The field of positive psychology (the study of positive psychological traits and outcomes) is receiving a great deal of attention these days, and not all of it is positive. In this course, students will take a critical perspective on this field as they explore the growing literature on topics like flow, adult cognitive development, emotional intelligence, and successful intelligence
-Girls to Women: Psychological, Literary and Post-modern Perspectives(SS) How do we understand the experience of growing up as a girl, and the way this necessarily forecasts being a woman? What are some of the psychological and sociological ideas that provide a language to understand this process? What are the implications of the post-modern turn in feminism for thinking about desire, women's writing, and women's use of language to portray subjectivity? To answer these questions, we'll begin with the psychological research on girls' development by members of the Harvard Project on Women's Psychology and Girls' Development. Then we'll explore particular topics (sexuality, pop culture, and self-injury), looking more carefully at some of the social messages (both restraints and invitations) girls and women encounter about their bodies. As part of the final section of the course, we'll begin to study semiotics, the study of signs, to find a language for the study of cultural representations and subjective experience. Finally, we'll read a sampling of postfeminism, its controversial understanding of gender and subjectivity-as well as its implications for women's use of language. In counterpoint to the theoretical material of the course, we'll read several novels and short stories. Students will be expected to conduct an interview with a girl or woman, and also analyze two of the literary works during the semester.
and at Mount Holyoke, -Women Writers: Twentieth-Century American Women Writers (Women's Studies) In this course we will examine the work of American women writers with an emphasis on the themes of protest and pleasure. Material will range from the overtly political to the intensely personal, will often merge the two, and will date from the late-nineteenth century to today. Despite our long-standing reputation for being "emotional," both outrage and ecstasy have oft been considered taboo for women. Yet women have been motivated by each to pick up the pen and have proved influential as writers on these themes. Authors will range from Emma Goldman, Ida B. Wells and Kate Chopin to Audre Lorde, Adrienne Rich and Dorothy Allison.
I love Hampshire SO much!
I'm actively part of Rock Your Body, positive body collective. It's fabulous.
Life is great <3
Can't wait to be back in b lo.
Here's a plan for Wednesday night....we are seeing Rent down town, then out to eat to to Marcellas. Anyone interested? Drop me a line. It'll be a fun, group outing :)!!!!!

12:14 am - FINAL PROJECT...
|
Want to talk about sex? Sexuality? Highschool?
I need people to contribute to my final project!
Write a representation of your own sexuality, experiences in highschool, experience at prom...
Here is the e-mail that I sent out, with all the details.
My contact info is at the bottom! Any questions?! Let me know...
And if you want to participate, send your writing to moer05@hampshire.edu.
Thanks!
DESCRIPTION:
For one of my final projects, I am creating a representation of adolescent sexuality. The details about the class, and the intention of the project are below. Initially, I had wanted to focus on sexuality and Catholic education. I've spent all of my years in Catholic schooling, and believed that this topic was extremely important and interesting to study within that context. Unfortunately, I have not recieved enough of a response to complete my project. I decided to generalize it more, in hopes to gain a better response.
Simply put, I am creating a book that will contain a collection of stories from a diverse group of people, discussing their experiences with sexuality in highschool. I was motivated after reading an article about teen pregnancy. I felt strongly about how negatively teen mothers were represented, and thus treated, within American society. It made me realize how narrowly accepted sexuality is defined, especially within my own experience at a Catholic highschool.
Adults define childhood, as they do "mainstream" sexuality. In doing so, they create a false reality. As we have studied in my class, society views childhood as a very pure, asexual stage of human development. There is a very specific time line, and defined way to live and act. Most people do not fit into this box.
Our assignment is to create a new "representation" concerning children's bodies. From what we have learned, I believe that it would be inappropriate for me to base this new representation solely on my own personal experiences. One person, or mindset can not define the masses. I want to represent all types of sexualities.
I had also considered unifying each personal statement (which is what I am asking those of you interested, to contribute) under a single theme: Prom Night. It is a major aspect of the highschool experience. At my school, each person needed to take on a set identity to attend....only girls with male escorts were allowed to goto prom. No groups of girls, no couples, no girls going alone....no male date, no admission. They also endlessly pushed post prom, versus alternate forms of after partying, in hopes to prevent sex on prom night. They told you who to be, and how to act. Everyone has a prom story, whether you went or did not. It touched all of our lives.
So, if any of you are interested in helping out, this is what I would like:
-Talk about your own sexuality -Talk about your thoughts about sexuality in general. -Talk about your experiences concerning sexuality in highschool. -Talk about your prom.
I want to touch all different situations, identities and experiences. Male, Female, Straight, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Single, Manogamous, Swinger, Polyamorous, Celibate, Sexually Active, Pregnant...
Tell me whatever you have to say, about anything listed above, or anything that I may have forgotten.
In terms of structure/format....don't have one. Grammar isn't really a concern. I will run spell check over these things, before printing them. There is no suggested length...minimum or maximum. I just want you to say whatever you want to say....represent yourself. That's the point of my project.
I plan to put this together over Thanksgiving break, so unfortunately, the time frame is rather short. I need things in the next week or so. I wish I had more time to gather input.
With your submission, include your first (and last, if you would like to) name, along with the city and state that you are from.
Just e-mail whatever you have to me: moer05@hampshire.edu. It does not need to as an attachment. Just a regular e-mail would be fabulous.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I'll leave my info at the end.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. There is a more lengthy explanation at the bottom, from the first time I sent this e-mail out.

10:07 am - ...orgasm
|
College is fantastic.
Classes. Emmm, they are a lot different than expected. Actually, my interest has changed dramatically. I am really considering Social Development as my concentration. I definitely am. I am taking a class that explores how children are represented in art, media, photographs etc., and what that means concerning their place in society. For my concentration, I think that I want to study the effects of media, gender, health, and other factors on childhood and adolesence. My other three classes are pretty interesting.
I am becoming involved in several orgs. Mainly, QCA (Queer community alliance) and SFU, which is a group that deals with achieving union nuetrality on the hampshire campus. I am going to begin writing a regular column for the Climax, the school newspaper....and maybe helping out with the literary mag. My schedule is really crazy, so I try to goto things when I am able to do so.
I'm working as a PR assistant, about 10 hours a week. It's mainy office work...but everything that passes through the office is interesting. Plus, its radly flexible...my boss is wonderful.
Dorm life is great. Yay for single rooms....my hall rocks. I ended up being placed on the Queer hall, which is one of the themed housing halls in Dakin. People are amazing, really fitting in. We all hang out a lot, with other random people. I've gone to Divas (a gay club), to a party at Amherst, random mod parties, and plenty of meanderings in North Hampton, Amherst, and Hadley.
Kodee and I are doing so well. We had some difficulties to work through, but now, our relationship is stronger than ever. We celebrated our five month this weekend. I went home with her, met her family...it was a big freaking deal. She comes home with me for Fall break, and Thanksgiving. She is taking me to Salem in November. :) I love her bunches.
Life is grand. I'll be home Thursday night, until Tuesday, later afternoon. I'm having a shin dig at my house Friday night, and nothing else planned as of yet. If you want to see me, give me a ring.
I love you guys <3 See you around!

11:14 pm - Finally here...
|
So, Hampshire finally got on their shit.
Here's an update on my college exsistence.
My classes are fabulous! Third World, Second Sex Intro to Media Criticism Exploring The Divine Feminine Representations of Childhood
My dorm situation is also pretty hot. I got a single in Dakin, which was pretty predictable. I'm in F206...which rocks, because F2 is the queer hall. And Kodee is literally right next to me. She is in E2, but there is literally only a bathroom between us. That is real convenient. Sarah is also in my hall...along with a few other kids, who I saw on face book. I can't wait to meet everyone.
As far as on campus jobs, I am applying to work in either the Women's Center, Community Health, or the Book Store. Good stuff, man.
I leave next Sunday. I can't wait.

10:09 pm - Two weeks, Two days...
|
I need to get out of Buffalo just this instant.
I hate Live Journal! But here I am, ranting.
I hate Cingular for fabricating $800 worth of phone charges.
I hate random calls from stupid ex girlfriends.
I hate when people have no regard for others. ie. Calls from people who just won't go away. When friends talk shit to/about other friends. People who are so self involved that they are unable to see how horribly mean they are to the rest of the planet. When people with authority use their power to keep others down.
BUT MOSTLY I HATE WEGMANS. I hate being there six days a week. I hate being treated with disrespect by customers, and coworkers(mostly management). Guess what, I don't give a shit. I just don't. I don't care about how fast I can scan things. And yes, I know not to stick the eggs in with the six pack.... Mostly, if you don't like my glasses, keep that to yourself. Because I don't care. I just don't.
Two weeks, and I'm done with these people, and this place, for good.

EILEEN WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?
This entry is entirely for Eileen. (Instead of flipping out on her voice mail, I think I would rather just do it here).
For those of you unaqauinted with my life, Eileen and I have lately been having really lengthy discussions about fate. The conclusion that I've personally come to is that there are some type of forces in the universe fucking with all of our minds. The HP is a very comical spirit sometimes. I love what she throws out.
Now, prior to this week, signs have shown a really odd, and horrible stream of events in Eileen's exsistence. (Again, before the spring, I was not concious to anything. Coincidence was always my fall back, comforting explanation....)
So, Eileen went to Canada, and all that crazy energy that followed her around, came after ME! Actually, I think it started late last week. It's really funny. I just....laugh a lot.
Eileen and I will have some good conversation when she gets home. Great.

My day was pretty crappy. Work kind of sucked, and such. But, I did get new underwear at American Eagle for $1 a pair, and got a fourth hole in my lobes. Hot stuff.
Tonight was grand.
We chilled at Higher Grounds, listened to some jazz. Snuck in some Mighty, and fries from Duffs. Drank over priced caffinated beverages. A drama free Matt Michaud gig, for the first time...ever. Paul O'Sullivan even sat on my lap for a bit, until the crazy man working at the "God Cafe" (as I so lovingly refer to it) told him that it was "one per chair". Apparently Paul, afterward, explained to him that I was gay, and neither of us were recieving any sexual pleasure out of it. It didn't change the rules.
THEN!!!!!!!!
I was sitting out on the patio, talking to Willow on the phone, when I begin to see cops swarming the area. I begin to joke about my less than perfect record with the police, and then, one shines a spot light on my face from across Sheridan. Another one proceeds to pull into the parking lot, and urgently inquire as to whether I have seen "a black male and a white male walking in the area..." !!!!! Ah, I was like hmm, this is a JAZZ SHOW IN AMHERST....we have a room full of people fitting that description. But I was too taken aback to respond. I ran inside, and giddily told Shannon, Gen, Casey and Beth of my experiences. We all run outside to the parking lot, with Paul and John Gusky, seeking out the convicts. The five of us girls jump into Gen's car after seeing the cops go by on Sherican, once again, and track those mother fuckers down. It was hot. As Gen put it, "For a second, I felt like I was on cops!"
:) What a fun evening.
I'm in such a good mood. Inwardly, and outwardly I feel so much more secure and content with life these days, even since the last Matt Michaud gig. My mom and I have begun to develop this amazing relationship. My friends are all wonderful (although we all have our days, everything with everyone is a lot more open, honest, and harmonious). I may be bias, but I attribute my own personal strength and happiness to the one factor that has changed in my life since the early spring.....my girlfriend. Willow has done amazing things to me. I realize more and more how whole, and real my love is for her. She has given me the support to fix so many unstable areas in my life. I am so thankful to be this lucky.
And that's it. Night. :)
